HE IS RISEN; RISEN INDEED

Happy Easter friends! Today we had to get up super-early for the Sunrise service at Ocean Lakes RV park here in Myrtle Beach. We were providing the special music for the early morning service at 6:30, so we had to get up at 5:30ish. Actually, I got up at 5:30 and I was one of the last ones out of bed, so most everyone else was up at 4:45 or 5:00. For the benefit of those of you who don’t know, we are not morning people. For the benefit of those of you who were at Ocean Lakes RV park to see us sing this morning, if we looked awake, we were faking it. =)

The sunrise service was actually inside rather than beside the beach like it was supposed to be due to the rain. We’ve only ever sung at two different sunrise services and both of them were indoors.

Anyway, I wanted to share with you a word of encouragement from Caleb today:

-Here’s a cool thought for those of us getting up extra early today.

We rise early not necessarily because He arose early, for our rising has no affect on His rising, but rather because Mary rose early to seek Him (John 20:1). Unlike Mary at the first, who went to seek Him and found an empty tomb and was crushed, thinking they had moved Him. Further, unlike Mary at the second, when she cried for the loss of her Savior and yet did not recognize Him. And finally, unlike Mary, who once she beheld the Master could not touch Him for He had not yet ascended. We who seek Him this day will find Him, embrace Him, and behold Him in all His glory as the risen Savior and coming King!-

Think on that today. Hope y’all have a Happy Easter as we remember together the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In Him we find hope, peace and purpose. Never forget His sacrifice, never forget His awesome love for us, and never forget to share the message with the lost and dying in our world today. For Christ is truly risen. That’s why we celebrate Easter, and that is the reason we can have hope for the future.
