The Trip

25, the number itself didn’t bear any significance, but after today it shall be forever etched in my mind.

25 is the number of total hours spent on a plane or bus from Atlanta to Soroti. 25 is the number of times I heard “we’re almost there”. 25 is the number of minutes I have slept from the time we left Atlanta, up ’till last night. suffice it to say, it was a very… interesting day.

Thank you to all who prayed for safety and to those who prayed our luggage here. All 32, items of baggage and 11 people arrived on time and in tact… mostly. Since those prayers were answered, I was thinking of a few you might include on the trip back, like: better airplane food, less picky security checks, and a knock out pill that is powerful enough to work even on an airplane. :P Honestly though, your prayers are vital and paramount to the success of this mission trip to it’s fullest potential.

I’m actually surviving off of 13 hours of sleep since Thursday. That’s FIVE days! That’s 120 hours! That’s like, one hour of sleep per ten hours of being awake! Pray for my sanity folks, assuming I had any before, which is a highly debatable point.. sadly enough.

I’ve started reading Ted Dekker’s “Circle Trilogy”. I know, what took my so long, right? Couldn’t find them for 3 years actually… my mind is wandering, which isn’t good because it doesn’t know it’s way around Uganda. If you’ll excuse me, I must go and find it. Until next time, Jared Allen signing off.
