Busy Day

Team B(same team as yesterday), went to
Asuret Compassion child development center today and received the
unique privilege of a performance by a group of the children,
portraying the Ateso’s traditional dance of unity.

Since we learned a song in Ateso(the
local language) it has been in high demand wherever we go. Something
about hearing us sing in their language, connects more deeply with
them than any single act we could do. Mrs. Harriet(our Compassion
center guide and contact) requested we sing for the children at
Asuret. Great, only one problem, Mom and Danielle are the melody on
that song and, consequently, they’re on team A. Needless to say, it
was a slight disaster.

I’m writing now because I have nothing
to do. Dad is speaking and for whatever reason, it takes the
translator 5 times as long to say what dad says… he may be using
his own paraphrases, I don’t know.  Not quite sure how their language
works, but hello in English could take a good 6 or 7 minutes in
translation. :P

the dish of liver is a highly prized
meat, which they serve to their honored guests. I’m not too keen on
liver, I can stand it, but the metal aspect of eating a liver….
-shudders- I just shuddered to think of it. You must eat what they
offer or you’ll offend them… we ate five meals to day in the name
of none offense- ism… i’m full. Until next time, Jared Allen,
signing off.
