The Catastrophy Of Death…

 pretty cool name, huh? :P

A little African girl sang our
version of “The Love Of  God” when we went to her Compassion
center. Apparently, mother and father had left a CD with this center
on a previous trip, this girl learned the song and sang it for us
today. It was nothing short of amazing.

      This just in, “FIRST MAJOR
INJURY ON AN ALLEN FAMILY MISSION TRIP” and it’s a headliner folks,
literally. We split into two teams for Compassion child development
center visits today. Caleb, Mom, Josh, Abby, Danielle, and Christian
on one team; Me, Dad, Gabs, Tori, and Zach on the other. At the first
center our team visited it happened. Duh Duh DUH!!! That is to say,
Dad ran into a little problem, er.. more or less Dad ran into a big
iron bar. Here’s the full story: after the children at the center had
shown us the trades they were learning, namely baking and sewing, we
went outside to have a snack before continuing our journey to the
next center. Dad decided to use the restroom and consequently, a low
lying iron bar met with a swift moving man’s forehead, a painful and
short lived acquaintance to say the least. Suffice it to say, Dad’s
having post trauma syndrome, to put it in his words, “I feel like I
need a chiropractor.” Evidently he landed on his back after the
initial impact, picked himself up off the ground, and continued until
blood began dripping onto the ground. He’s okay, won’t need
stitches… hopefully. The funny thing is…. mom doesn’t know about
it! She won’t till later tonight… this is too funny, but in a way,
it’s not. Dad said he did it for the blog, hit his head for the
drama… gonna have to remember to tell the others that I don’t need
their help in the blogging, I’m not that hard pressed for ideas. Next
thing you know they’ll be throwing themselves off Soroti Rock(local
mountain) yelling “Blog me!!”.

We are walking, have been for a
short while now. Not far in African is very different from not far in
America. Half a kilometer later we are at the bore hole of the Otatai
Compassion child development center.

And now we’re back, you may be
thinking “That was short lived.” not really, I just got tired of
writing whilst I walked. Speaking of, I am rather tired, until next
time, Jared Allen signing off.
